Stepping out of the rooms and campus from time to time, the students embark on little outings that refresh their minds and broaden their horizons. With each excursion, they discover new things to see and learn about the local myths and folklore that surround them. The breathtaking destinations they visit are a treasure trove of enchanting landscapes, vibrant culture, and rich heritage.
Under the guidance of their wardens, the students explore the states, immersing themselves in the unique traditions and customs of each place. As they travel, the students collect memories and stories that they cherish long after the trip is over. They return to campus refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired, with a newfound sense of wonder and awe.
Our hostel facilities are designed to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable living space for our students. The boys' hostel is conveniently located just a five-minute walk from the campus, and to ensure their safety and convenience, we provide a dedicated car service for pick-up and drop-off .
For our girls, the hostel is located within the school campus, providing an added layer of security and convenience. This allows our girls to have easy access to the school's facilities and resources, while also enjoying the comfort and security of being within the campus. Each hostel room is shared by a minimum of two and a maximum of three students, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community among our students. The rooms are well-furnished and equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a study table, comfortable bedding, and ample storage space.
Our experienced and caring wardens are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hostels, ensuring that our students feel supported and at home. They maintain a close relationship with the students, providing guidance and mentorship while also enforcing the rules and regulations to maintain a safe and respectful environment. Our wardens are available 24/7 to address any concerns or issues that may arise, providing an added layer of comfort and security for our students and their parents.
Apart from regular classroom instructions, the school provides Science laboratories for creative learning.
BDW International School is the first School in Shillong to have set up a special lab for 21st-century learning skills which includes a robotics lab, a coding program, machine learning, 3D Printing, Software Coding and a creative and critical thinking program.
Students are catered with the latest technologies and infrastructure providing students with the opportunity to acquire digital fluency, encouraging them to go beyond accessing information.
The students actively participate in literary and creative skills at school. This skill includes those activities where students get a chance to learn and exhibit their potential when it comes to Debate, Declamation, Creative Writing, Recitation, Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Theatre etc.
After acquiring the skill, the student is ready to participate in various inter and intra-school competitions.
This module allows students to discover and nurture a creative spirit while learning, music classes include lessons in Drums, Guitar, Piano, Singing, Tabla and Synthesizer.
